Kathleen Dolio, is a licensed Interior Designer.  With over 30 years experience, KDT Designs has provided award winning design solutions for many types of commissions: homes, large and small, offices both home and corporate, as well as commercial lobbies, hospitality spaces and new builds from the ground up.  From kitchens and baths to historic renovations in National Trust designated structures,  KDT Designs’s creative solutions reflect the client’s personality, lifestyles and goals for the space while solving practical problems with the mechanical and structural needs.  We interface with the contractors based on local codes to insure that quality is maintained.

Kathleen, as president and founder of KDT takes the time to know clients, to share their personalities, preferences and goals in order to create solutions that solve problems and both create and enhance aesthetic values.

 Kathleen’s interest in these areas began early.  Her father was a founding partner of Shaw, Metz and Dolio, a prestigious architecture, construction, engineering and design firm in Chicago, so her earliest exposure was at a professional level.

Upon graduation from Marymount College, New York, with a BA in American Studies, Kathleen headed west to Los Angeles where her interest in the arts drew her in to the world of television and film production and eventually into senior management in the budding cable world.  Her 10 plus years in the entertainment industry further stimulated her interest in design and she returned to Chicago and completed a degree in Interior Design at Harrington Institute.  Upon completion she founded KDT Designs, Inc.
